Virgo New Moon- When body, mind and spirit connect
Mars has been enjoying a long stay in Aries, his home base, which started in June and he will continue in the sign til January. This six month visit compared to a normal average of a few weeks is making me feel into Mars vacationing in his comfy cabin in the woods, free to be who he is; ravenous for passion, independence and the need to assert himself. Unfortunately for us earthly beings, this is a sad state of affairs as he brings forth chaos in the form of fire, fighting and flames.
Alas, the New Moon enters Virgo on September 17th. I feel a sense of relief as the wave of discerning focus, blended with Earth mother protection, and strategic determination comes upon us. We are able to experience a sense of stability based on the energy toward clarity of thought, health of the body and connection to spirit; all markings of Virgo. This ushers in a moment of abatement from the hubris that Mars can blanket us with in his fiery cardinal hue.
The Virgo New Moon is the first in a season of Super Moons in the upcoming months that is culminating into a Total Solar New Moon eclipse on December 14th, 2020. This may open a door into a new age of possibility and hope for the future. Super Moons tend to make the New Moon energy that much stronger with its closer proximity to Earth.
New Moons represent the ending of one lunar cycle into a new one providing an invigorating opportunity of initiative and growth. With the Sun and the Moon combining in Virgo this affords us a strong energy to make a concrete plan, change and adapt whatever isn’t working and move forward with dedication and determination. You may ask yourself, ‘what are the lessons that I have learned this year?’ On Sept. 13th, Jupiter, who has been retrograde since mid May stations direct at 17 degrees Capricorn. This will give us a push into reviewing what we have discovered about the world at large, our own truths and how we can move forth with a future vision that contains more wisdom and humility. Virgo, as an Earth sign, ruled by Mercury and associated to purity and service is a unique bridge between body, mind and spirit. This New Moon is encouraging us to focus on our health, as Virgo is known to be the healer. Perhaps, there will be some good news regarding the virus. What have we learned in terms of taking better care of our bodies. Virgo links us to the digestive system, nutrition and healing with the ancient wisdom of the Earth. This is a great time to focus on the body and create an environment that strengthens our immunity.
Intelligent Virgo is always tapping into the depths of the mind. This relates us to our work. With its focus on details, we can harness this energy to utilize the lessons we’ve learned and move forward with a concrete plan that is clear in our intentions. However, make sure you are being kind to yourself. Virgo is known for being the anxious perfectionist and it is important to let the mutability of Virgo be a key for adapting to the constant changes we are facing. We know that sometimes our plans will have to be adjusted. Virgo has deep connection to purity and spirit. As the selfless servant, Virgo invites us to create our sacred space and bring light to those around us and in our own hearts. When we merge with the divine, we move beyond judgement, surpass duality and unify consciousness. When we proceed in this direction, creativity can flow easily and the mind is open for endless possibilities for the new. Meditation, sacred ceremony and any spiritual practice that is right for you can open the pathway into this creative space to make a conscious plan for what you envision in your future.
